Hello! 👋 I’m Darrell Moore, living in Charlotte, North Carolina currently working at Discovery Education as a full-time Senior UI/UX Designer. My daily primary role is creating, maintaining and helping with adoption of our design system, Nebula.

I’ve helped build brand experiences, interfaces and websites. Now, with 15 years of experience as a digital designer, I continue to have a passion for design for the essence of creating experiences that inspire, educate and entertain.

Beginning in the web world where I edged myself in esthetically pleasing surroundings. Discovering ways brands express themselves to the world. Learning how presentation is everything—moving into the atmosphere of motion to breathe life into visuals. Each passion has always tied one another together driven by curiosity, and learning strategic ways throughout each process that has been beneficial in every study.

Senior UI Designer, Design Systems

Core responsibilities of creating and maintaining a consistent visual language and user experience across multiple digital platform products. This includes contributing to the design system, Implementing UI components such as buttons, forms, cards, navigation menus and fluent navigational patterns. As well as creating and enforcing design guidelines and commonly used patterns. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as product managers, product designers and developers to ensure that the design system is efficient, user centered, and accessible. Each iteration to the design system has been conducted based on user research and testing to validate design decisions and continuously improve the design system.

TIP

Creative Lead

TIP is a Charlotte based web agency focusing on digital transformation for businesses. My primary role while at TIP has been vast between consulting, web design, application design, brand identity and frontend development. Building user experiences for web and mobile based apps, creating unique brand identities and web based products for corporate leaders to small town businesses. I’ve worked on many different projects while my time at TIP. Clients include Samaritans Purse, Novant, Party Reflections and more.

BookFresh
Nov 2012 - June 2013

Product Designer

BookFresh was an app dedicated to allowing businesses to have an API based online scheduler for consumers to set online appointments. My role during my time was user interface and user experience and frontend development. BookFresh was later purchased by Square.

AnyMeeting
May 2011 - Dec 2011

Product Designer

AnyMeeting is an online webinar solution for video broadcasting conferences, screen sharing, and more. I helped create the foundations of their platform from ground up. Finding user interface and user experience solutions a long the way, user testing those solutions and iterating based on feedback. Also helped create a web presence for AnyMeeting. AnyMeeting was later purchased by Intermedia.

Over the years, I’ve helped grow many different online platforms, lift new businesses to have a presence when they couldn’t see a visual aspect to their business on their own. Tasks range from responsive web design, user interface and user experience testing and development, identity presence, visual design and adding motion to visuals.
